WORLD WAR TWO BEQUEST UNITED NATIONS

WORLD WAR TWO BEQUEST UNITED NATIONS

All we know that an international organization exists where all the states can be met around a table of conferences and to carry out agreements that help the world peace. But, all we know if this organization has completed satisfactorily with their initial objectives since their creation and which have been its results? United Nations was created after two conferences celebrated by the allies toward the end of World War Two. During the war, the Allies already had agreed to create a new international organization to replace the league of the nations, that they had run a sad luck, and in the conferences of Dumbarton and San Francisco, the Allies devised the new modality of this agency. (

Since its creation the United Nations had three basic objectives and the first and main objective is the maintenance of the peace and of the international security, in second place, the founders decreed that its creation owes "to promote the friendly relations among the countries", basing on the respect to rights equality principle and of self-determination of the towns. In third place, they declared that this organization owes "to achieve an international cooperation for the solution of the international conflicts of economic, social, cultural or humane character”, to promote and to stimulate "the respect by the human rights and the fundamental liberties for all, without distinction of race, sex, tongue or religion.

According to these objectives and principles, the united nations has carried out a very good opportune and decisive role to help to put an end to the armed conflicts, and this can be seen with

clarity in 1988 and 1989, when the organization performance a fundamental role to undertake three long-term and difficult problems, due to that helped to establish and to control a high fire in the war between Iraq and Iran. (

It collaborated in the process of retreat of the Soviet forces of Afghanistan, and its action was key to assure and to control the foundation of Namibia as independent country. Nevertheless, in 1992-93 United Nations has had less success to be faced to conflict of the civil war in the old one Yugoslavia. The incapacity of United Nations and of other international organizations to put end to the conflict has been one of the numerous elements of the potential disorder that threatens at present the rise of a "new international order" from beginnings of the decade of the 90.

Also the united nations can be filled of some successes in the fulfillment of other of its basic objectives, due to that has collaborated to accelerate the progress toward the sovereignty of the old colonies and it has obtained immense achievements to do of the private cruelties of certain governments a matter that implies to all the international community, Also it has fought to alleviate the sanitary, educational, social, and economic problems in the third world, especially through agencies specialized as the OMS and UNICEF (

Nevertheless, often it has been criticized the United Nations by denouncing the violations happening in other countries and by permitting that the agencies specialized squander large quantities of money in unnecessary bureaucracy, in prejudice of the ones that they receive this aid.

To conclude, the global history of The United Nations has had uneven results. The organization has not been able to comply with the ideals of the founders, but neither has it failed completely. It has shown its utility in numerous conflicts. Above all one must keep in mind that the United Nations is a free association of states based on the principle of sovereignty. In other words, that only can do so much or so little as the countries that conform they be permitted them it.
